Guild Leader
The guild leader is the vision of the guild and the driving force behind our guild. This is primarily a democracy with a Guild Leader in charge of key decisions through the support of the officership. The officers almost act like a congress for the president (guild leader). The opinions of every member are important to us and frequently those opinions will be asked for in game, at meetings, and/or using official polls here on our forums. Everything from guild policy to even direction of the guild we will ask your opinions of unless we as officers have a general understanding and feel the need to make easy, quick decisions. Regardless, we make an effort to make sure the upper leadership has a clear understanding of the needs of the members and most of that people feel involved and happy with where the guild is going.

In the event the guild leader retires the new leader will be chosen from a list of candidates available from the officer pool.

——————————————————————————

Officer
Officers have specific roles and are expected to fulfill those duties regularly. If an officer is not doing their duty they are replaced with others who are more dedicated to the task. Some people are better at research. Some are better at organizing events. Some are excellent at recruitment and the organization involved in processing recruits. The list of officer roles and assigned officers are below. Regardless of what an officer does, the officer's other duties are to help make guild decisions and act in place of the guild leader when he/she is not around. No single person can steer a ship, you need a crew of dedicated workers and specialists who help coordinate efforts at the port, aft, and below decks. Without the officers, there would be no HILYMI.

——————————————————————————

Core Raider
The distinction of core raider is granted to any member who consistently meets our attendance requirements and the rest of the core raider expectations (see policy document). These individuals are our CORE team and are given priority seating on raids because it's their skill, their gear, their experience, and their know-how that makes them core raider and pushes our progression forward.

Core Raid Teams
Core raiders are divided into 4 agile teams of 1 lead and 5-8 core raiders. The lead is an officer or veteran member of the guild. These teams are maintained on our raiding roster (https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc ... nVKcE5XWVE).

The leads essentially manage communication among their 5 people under them. Decisions on who goes or stays, who gets benched, who is a "core raider", demotes people out of core to "raider" rank if they don't meet expectations, promotes from within the guild to get people from raider into core raider, and if there is no one available from within, goes to the recruitment officer to get specific classes for their team. At times of large amount of recruitment, team leads are encouraged to fill their team's roster themselves. Team leads will have to coordinate to ensure that the core is a balanced core in terms of buffs, tokens, loot distribution, and unique mechanics needs (especially for example on the healing team where there are UNIQUE mechanics offered by certain classes).

Raider
Raiders are the base of our raiding membership and the backups for our core team. These are individuals who have shown that they are a good fit for the guild and the guild is a good long term fit for them. Unfortunately for one reason or another they are not part of our core team. This could be due to being sporadic in attendance or simply that these individuals have been under-performing compared to their peers and are put into beta rank until their performance improves.

——————————————————————————

PVP
This rank is specifically for those who's primary goal is to represent the guild in PvP. This is an organizational rank used as suited by the PvP officer of the guild. That person likely will use this rank for organizing who is focused on PvP vs our PvP ranks, so they can maintain for example a solid RBG team.

Members
The members rank are those who are in the guild, not to raid, but purely are on the roster on a casual basis. Many times people in member rank are either those who are friends, family, or otherwise are taking a break from raiding for some real life reasons. They are brought to raids sometimes, but rarely and only if it's farm content. These individuals need to be active in the guild, guild forums, Ventrilo, and show commitment to the guild. You will be given access to all member forums and limited member features of the website. If you wish to become a Raider or Core Raider member, please read our recruitment / promotion policy.

Alt
An alternate character of a non officer. Look at notes of any Alt to find out who's the main of the alt.

Officer Duties

Postby CyberVic » Mon Nov 09, 2009 6:02 pm

Officers - Core Primary Roles

Guild Leader
Livistos

Co-Leader
Jehosephat
The Right Hand is the acting Co-Leader of the guild. He is the Ying to the Yang to the Guild Leader and always grounds him when he flies off the handle about stuff (and visa versa). He picks up the slack when the guild leader is burnt out with the constant, usually unseen administrative duties that keep the wheels greased around the guild. These administrative duties include but are not limited to post moderation, forum rights management, ventrilo rights management, ventrilo channel management, loot database management, member join date management, roster notes management, and pretty much anything else that we keep track of constantly to keep the ship sailing smoothly. He coordinates with the Guild Leader to discuss policy changes even before policy changes are brought to the table to the officers. All guild decisions go through the right hand just as they go through the Leader. He is the 2nd check of reason and logic for the guild leader and takes the "cultural view" of every decision the guild leader is trying to make. Helps the Guild Leader with leadership decisions and establish the vision and direction of the guild. Deals with many of the same tasks and fills in if the Guild Leader is not currently around.

Healing Archetype Lead
Livistos
Primary responsibilities are ensuring that all healers have proper talents, gems, and enchants; competent in raid healing, and skilled in use of their cool-downs and ensuring the survival of the tanks; and finally, works with the Roster officer to keep both ranged and melee DPS levels adequate for the current raid environment.

Tank / Melee DPS Archetype Lead
Hopeforblood
Primary responsibilities are ensuring that all melee DPS have proper talents, gems, and enchants; that they can output proper single-target DPS; they are knowledgeable of all fight mechanics and how to maximize their DPS while moving; and use all consumables and cool-downs effectively; and finally, works with the Roster officer to keep both ranged and melee DPS levels adequate for the current raid environment. Also responsible for ensuring that all tanks have proper talents, gems, enchants; that they are proficient at threat generation; skilled at cool-down usage and boss tactics; and that there are enough tanks and off-tanks for raiding.

Non-Cloth Range DPS Archetype Lead
Yoink
Primary responsibilities are ensuring that all range DPS have proper talents, gems, and enchants; that they can output proper single-target DPS; they are knowledgeable of all fight mechanics and how to maximize their DPS while moving; and use all consumables and cool-downs effectively; and finally, works with the Roster officer to keep both ranged and melee DPS levels adequate for the current raid environment.

Cloth Range DPS Archetype Lead
Ragnalok
Primary responsibilities are ensuring that all range DPS have proper talents, gems, and enchants; that they can output proper single-target DPS; they are knowledgeable of all fight mechanics and how to maximize their DPS while moving; and use all consumables and cool-downs effectively; and finally, works with the Roster officer to keep both ranged and melee DPS levels adequate for the current raid environment.

Secondary Duties

Raid Leading
Yoink, Jehosephat, Livistos
These are officers who function as the guild's Raid Leaders. In this capacity, they schedule raids, leads raids, and choose raid attendees. In this last duty, the raid leader's choices should not be questioned and any disputes are to be asked *after* the raid. Finally, they act as loot masters, post battle reports, and capture World of Logs data while raiding.

Recruitment
All Officers
Recruitment Officers are the first people most members will meet when looking to join Hit It. This could be from the recruitment thread on the Stormreaver forums, the Horde Recruitment forums, WoWMatcher.com, WoWProgress.com, or anywhere else that recruits come from. In the Guild Recruitment forums, these officers target people that seem like they are good fits for our guild, and seeks them out. One they are in the guild recruitment officers also help move recruits through the recruitment processes in the guild.

Mediators
Your Team Lead, Jehosephat, Livistos
Mediators are those officers in the guild who act as neutrally as possible to help resolve conflict between members and keep the peace (so to speak) when there is any conflict that might take place. This is a game, but it has real people with real emotions and these officers are skilled at resolving that conflict peacefully.

Guild Bank Organization / Tradeskill Coordination
Yoink, Livistos
Bank organizers ensure that the guild wealth is properly shared and utilized in an efficient manner. While not raiding, he organizes the guild bank, manages the bank privileges, sells unneeded bank items, and buys bank items that are a "deal" and needed for needed trade skilling. Also, he also oversees the crafting side of the guild and making sure raid necessities are being produced in the correct quantities each week.
